People think that having random food will make the party look more presentable but it doesn't work that way, there is some specific food meant for some special occasion like for example, going for a traditional occasion you can't see jollof rice or fried rice there but instead, you see local foods like efo riro, ofada rice and many more.
There are different occasions such as weddings, cocktail parties, Dinner parties, A business dinner, An interview, A funeral, a birthday party, Awards nights, Christmas, New year. There are different foods attached to these different occasions.
Culture attribute to this effect in the sense that each culture or tribe have their own way of cooking for different occasions. For example, in Nigeria, we have 3 main tribes which are Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba. Each tribe has its own uniqueness and specialty in terms of foods and their food can not have the same taste or been cooked in the same way.
Ages attribute to this effect, a child can't eat what a 20-year-old years old adult is consuming because it comes with a stage in life. A child starts taking milk as a baby, then starts taking main food from the adolescent age and it continues like that till the point where he or she can consume anything. When the old age comes, it starts reducing what he or she consumes because it has to do with the health and other likes.
